A tragic accident occurred on the National Highway near the Forest Check Post in Asifabad on Saturday afternoon, claiming the life of a motorcyclist. The victim, identified as Gurrla Mondayya, was traveling on the wrong route when his bike collided head-on with a car coming at high speed.

According to Asifabad CI Ravinder, the incident took place around 12:40 PM when Mondayya, along with another person, Manten Prabhakar, was traveling from Vanjari Nandiguda in the wrong direction on the bike (AP 01AD 4863). At the same time, a car (TS 13EV 2503), driven by Poreddy Prem Kumar, was speeding from Buruguda towards Wankidi. The collision occurred near the Forest Check Post when the car, traveling on the correct side, struck the motorcycle, throwing both riders to the ground.

Mondayya suffered severe injuries, including a broken left leg and heavy blood loss, which led to his death. Prabhakar, who was riding pillion, also sustained serious injuries. Both were immediately rushed to the Asifabad Government Hospital. Unfortunately, Mondayya was pronounced dead during treatment.

The police have registered a case and are conducting an investigation into the incident. CI Ravinder has urged motorists to adhere to traffic rules and avoid dangerous driving practices to prevent such tragedies in the future.
