Solar Panels in Every Home in Kuppam: CM Chandrababu Naidu Launches PM Surya Ghar Pilot Project

Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu inaugurated the PM Surya Ghar pilot project at Nadimuru village in Kuppam constituency on Monday. Speaking on the occasion, the CM announced his commitment to launching development projects in Kuppam first before expanding them across the state.

Under the PM Surya Ghar scheme, solar panels will be installed on every household in Kuppam with 100% subsidy. Chandrababu Naidu highlighted the benefits of producing electricity at home, stating, “We aim to empower every household to generate electricity. Installing solar panels on rooftops allows families to reduce power bills and even earn additional income by supplying surplus electricity to the grid.”

The initiative includes a subsidy of ₹60,000 for two-kilowatt solar panel installations, which cost ₹1.1 lakh. Households can produce 200 units of electricity per month, use the required amount, and sell the surplus to the grid, earning up to ₹5,000 annually. The government will handle the maintenance, ensuring a hassle-free experience for users.

Environmental and Developmental Vision

Addressing environmental concerns, the CM emphasized the importance of reducing pollution and conserving groundwater. “Pollution is a leading cause of diseases like cancer. By adopting solar energy and promoting clean practices, we can secure a healthier future,” he said. He also promised to bring Krishna waters to Kuppam by June and ensure comprehensive water conservation efforts in the constituency.

Kuppam’s Path to Progress

The CM criticized the turmoil caused in the constituency over the past five years and vowed to restore peace and prosperity. “Kuppam will be a model constituency for the nation,” he asserted, unveiling plans for electric cycles, charging stations, and other futuristic developments.
