117 kg Ganja Worth ₹74 Lakh Incinerated Under District Drug Disposal Committee

Under the supervision of the District Drug Disposal Committee, approximately 117.8 kg of seized ganja worth ₹74 lakh was destroyed through incineration today at the Venkataramana Incinerators Center in Manakondur, Karimnagar district. The ganja was seized in connection with 53 cases registered across various police stations in Komaram Bheem Asifabad district. The incineration process adhered to environmental pollution control regulations, according to District SP Sri D.V. Srinivas Rao, IPS.
As the chairman of the committee, SP D.V. Srinivas Rao was joined by committee members Additional SP Prabhakar Rao and Kaghaznagar DSP Ramanujam.
Speaking on the occasion, the SP emphasized that the destruction of ganja followed the provisions of the NDPS Act. He noted that individuals involved in illegal activities such as ganja cultivation, transportation, and sales are luring youth in urban and rural areas into substance abuse. The SP stated that widespread inspections are being conducted across the district to curb such activities and warned that strict action will be taken against anyone involved in the cultivation, transportation, sale, or use of ganja or other narcotics.
The incineration program was attended by Additional SP Prabhakar Rao, DCRB Inspector Sridhar, and other police officers and staff from Asifabad district.
