Adilabad, January 1

For over 24 years, the Mali community has fought for social justice, yet complete justice remains unattained, said All India Mali Mahasangh State President Sukumar Petkule. Speaking at a meeting held at the Phule Guest House in Adilabad on Wednesday, he emphasized the need for the three lakh members of the Mali community across the erstwhile Adilabad district to unite for their collective rights.

Sukumar announced that elections for the State Committee of the Mali Welfare Association will be conducted on January 12 in Kumram Bheem Asifabad district. Representatives from 250 villages across Telangana will participate as voters, with each village nominating two individuals to elect the President and General Secretary of the State Committee.

He also called upon the community to celebrate the birth anniversary of Savitribai Phule, India’s first female teacher, on January 3 in every village, highlighting her contributions as an inspiration for unity and progress.

The meeting was attended by State General Secretary Sambanna Shinde, District President of the Patels’ Association Shinde Gangaram, State President of the Youth Wing Advocate Umesh Rao Dole, District Executive Member Vittal Kotrange, and other community leaders.
