In a meeting organized as part of the implementation of six government guarantees in Siddipet district’s Gajwel mandal, a heated argument occurred between the villagers and officials at Bayyaram village. The villagers, who gathered for the village meeting, raised concerns over the benefits of the six guarantees and loan waivers. They demanded that the Atmiya Bhrosa scheme be extended to all landless individuals, and that those who had applied for Indiramma houses should be granted their housing.
The villagers expressed dissatisfaction with the government’s handling of welfare schemes, claiming that the genuine poor were being left out while people with money, land, and political connections, particularly Congress party members and activists, were included in the beneficiary lists for Indiramma houses. The villagers also voiced their frustration with the lack of justice in the distribution of welfare schemes, such as ration cards, free electricity, and cooking gas, which were reportedly not reaching the deserving individuals.
The meeting, part of the government’s effort to ensure the benefits of the six guarantees reach the people, witnessed strong opposition from the villagers. They expressed their frustration over what they perceived as a lack of fairness in the distribution of benefits.
Villagers were also taken aback by the presence of police during the meeting, which they claimed was an unprecedented move. They expressed their surprise, stating that such meetings had never been held with police presence in their village before.
