Additionally, initiatives like digital PUC certificates via the RTA m-Wallet app, GPS tracking for 9,320 buses, and pollution control measures have streamlined operations and improved transparency.
The RTC experienced growth with a 27% increase in daily ridership, supported by the addition of 1,389 new buses, including electric and AC buses. Infrastructure upgrades included setting up traffic awareness parks in 240 schools and enhancing passenger amenities at bus stations. The Mahalakshmi Scheme, coupled with reduced bus rental rates and cargo home delivery services, boosted accessibility and affordability while contributing to RTC’s financial stability.
Focusing on staff welfare, the department implemented the 2017 PRC with a 21% fitment, settled pending dues, and upgraded the Tarnaka RTC Hospital into a super-specialty facility. Recruitment for 3,038 posts and over 500 compassionate appointments further strengthened the workforce.
