Forest Clearance Approved for RRR Northern Section – Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy

Hyderabad

Minister for Roads and Buildings, Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, announced that the Union Ministry of Environment, Forest, and Climate Change has approved forest clearance for the prestigious Regional Ring Road (RRR) Northern Section in Telangana. The approval was conveyed through a letter from Kailash Bhimrao Bhawar, Assistant Inspector General, Forests.

The forest clearance resolves the primary issue of land acquisition for the RRR’s northern segment. Telangana had submitted online proposals (FP/TG/ROAD/489876/2024) on 26.07.2024 under the Forest Conservation Act, 1980. Following review by the Regional Empowered Committee (REC) during its 69th meeting on September 19, 2024, “in-principle” approval was granted under Section 2 of the Forest Conservation Act.

As per the clearance, forest land in three districts is allocated as follows:

Medak District: 35.5882 hectares

Siddipet District: 28.2544 hectares

Yadadri-Bhuvanagiri District: 8.511 hectares

A total of 72.3536 hectares will be used for constructing the Hyderabad Regional Ring Road (HRRR) under Bharatmala Pariyojana Phase-1, implemented by NHAI through the Project Implementation Unit (PIU) in Gajwel.

Minister Venkat Reddy stated that with 90% of land acquisition already completed, the remaining minor cases are being resolved. Once technical approvals from NHAI are received, tenders will be issued, and construction will commence.

Expressing gratitude, the Minister thanked Union Minister Bhupender Yadav for the prompt approval, marking a significant milestone in the project’s progress. The clearance is expected to expedite the RRR construction, benefiting the state’s infrastructure and economy.
