A district-level meeting was conducted in Vemulawada on Monday at Mahalingeshwara Gardens in preparation for Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s visit scheduled for November 20. The meeting was attended by Government Whip Adi Srinivas, Manakondur MLA Kavvampalli Satyanarayana, and District Library Chairman Nagula Satyanarayana.
Speaking at the event, Whip Adi Srinivas announced that the Chief Minister would arrive in Vemulawada at 10:30 AM on Wednesday to launch various developmental projects and inaugurations in the district. Highlighting the importance of the visit, Srinivas emphasized the development and expansion of the historic Rajanna Temple, with ₹50 crore allocated in the 2023-24 budget. He criticized the previous government, stating that former Chief Minister KCR promised ₹100 crore annually but failed to deliver, leaving only colorful brochures behind.
“The Congress government has allocated the promised ₹50 crore, and the temple expansion will commence with the CM’s inauguration,” Srinivas stated. He assured that the development of Rajanna Temple and Vemulawada town would proceed simultaneously, rectifying the stagnation observed since 2014.
Srinivas also addressed the unfulfilled promises made by KCR to residents of submerged villages, such as the promised ₹5 lakh compensation under the double-bedroom housing scheme. He credited leaders like Revanth Reddy for standing with the affected villagers, recalling their protests and assurance during difficult times. Recently, ₹230 crore was sanctioned for constructing 4,696 houses for these villagers.
Other developments under Revanth Reddy’s leadership include the sanction of yarn depots fulfilling a 30-year-long demand of weavers, funds for the third bridge in Vemulawada, and ₹6 crore for land acquisition. Additionally, ₹9 crore was allocated for pending works at the Malkapet Reservoir, and ₹10 crore for land acquisition for Kalikota Suramma Cheruvu canals.
Whip Adi Srinivas concluded by urging people from villages and towns to gather in large numbers to make the CM’s visit a grand success, as it marks a new chapter in the region’s development.
