Collector Abhilasha Abhinav Advocates Financial Literacy for Rural and Urban Populations

District Collector Abhilasha Abhinav emphasized the importance of financial literacy for rural and urban communities during a training program held at Haritha Resort in Kadam Mandal on Saturday. The program aimed to train volunteers to create awareness about financial literacy among the public.
Speaking at the event, the Collector urged efforts to ensure even people from remote villages gain financial awareness. She stressed the need to educate citizens on essential financial topics relevant to daily life, including the prevention of cybercrimes and the benefits of government schemes, loans, and insurance.
The Collector highlighted central and state government initiatives such as Jan Suraksha, PM Vishwakarma, Mudra Yojana, PMEGP, PM Jeevan Jyoti, Atal Pension Yojana, and others. She advised encouraging eligible individuals to utilize these schemes and loans effectively for agriculture, allied sectors like dairy, poultry, and aquaculture, as well as cottage industries, trade, and traditional professions.
District Lead Bank Manager Rangaopal added that the Reserve Bank of India, along with voluntary organizations like WEEDS, is conducting awareness programs to enhance banking services among the public. He assured that extensive campaigns would be carried out to educate farmers, women’s groups, and youth about government schemes and insurance services.
Prior to the session, WEEDS Managing Director Parthasarathi conducted an orientation for area coordinators on financial literacy and the effective use of banking services. Later, the Collector unveiled a financial literacy booklet alongside officials.
The event was attended by Tahsildar Sujatha, MPDO Aruna, SBI Bank Manager Santosh, Telangana Grameena Bank Manager Naresh, and representatives from various organizations and staff.
