Deccan Freedom News,

Nizamabad, November 25:

The Nizamabad Bar Association held an emergency meeting at the District Court premises on Monday to protest the physical assault on senior advocate Mohammed Qasim by the Khan Brothers. Bar Association President Mallepula Jagan Mohan Goud strongly condemned the attack, describing it as a grave act of hooliganism.

Advocate Qasim was reportedly threatened to sell his office space located on Khilla Road, and when he refused, he was assaulted by Arshad Khan, Muzaffar Khan, and Mujahid Khan. The attack left Qasim seriously injured, prompting the Bar Association to demand the immediate arrest of the perpetrators.

Jagan Mohan Goud criticized the criminal history of the accused and stated that such acts of intimidation reflect the growing lawlessness in Nizamabad. He emphasized the urgent need for police action to restore peace and order in the city. Goud also called for the enactment of a special law to protect advocates in Telangana and warned of intensified protests if justice is not served.

Telangana State Bar Council Member Manthani Rajender Reddy assured advocates that the government is working on a new law to address attacks on legal professionals. He reiterated that selling or retaining property is the owner’s right and condemned the attack as a violation of those rights.

Senior advocates Erram Ganapati, Tula Gangadhar, and Paruchuri Sridhar expressed their solidarity with Qasim, stating that the legal community stands united against such acts of violence. Qasim’s brother, advocate Mohammed Shadulla, and his son, advocate Mohammed Khalid, detailed the events of the assault during the meeting.

They inspected the site and later visited Qasim at Pragati Hospital to extend their support.

The advocates also met Assistant Police Commissioner Raja Venkata Reddy to submit a memorandum demanding the immediate arrest of the accused, a swift investigation, and the filing of a chargesheet in court.

The program was attended by Bar Association Vice President Raju, General Secretary Vasanth Rao, Secretary Suresh Donpal, Treasurer Deepak, and advocates Apoorva, Gangone Kavitha, Manik Raju, Krishnanand, Ash Narayana, Padigela Venkateshwar, former Public Prosecutor Madhusudhan Rao, Hariprasad, V.
