Plans to Restore Nizamsagar’s Glory and Promote Tourism: Minister Jupalli Krishna Rao

Tourism and Culture Minister Jupalli Krishna Rao announced plans to revive the historical significance of Nizamsagar and transform it into a premier tourist destination. During his visit to the Nizamsagar project, the minister, along with Jukkal MLA Lakshmi Kantha Rao, inspected ancient landmarks such as Golbangla, Gulgast Bungalow, VIP Garden, and the Swimming Pool. Officials briefed him on the 12-acre land allocated by the Revenue Department to the Tourism Development Corporation for enhancing the Nizamsagar Reservoir and its surroundings.

Minister Jupalli emphasized the potential for tourism development, suggesting initiatives like boating, gardens, and children’s parks. He revealed plans for a new tourism policy and public-private partnerships (PPP) to develop the area further. Additionally, he expressed the government’s commitment to restoring the 10-megawatt power generation capacity of the Nizamsagar Hydro Power Station.

Kaulas Fort to Become a Tourist Hub

Minister Jupalli Krishna Rao, accompanied by MLA Thota Lakshmi Kantha Rao and MP Suresh Shetkar, visited Kaulas Fort in Jukkal Mandal. Highlighting the fort’s historical significance and location at the junction of Telangana, Karnataka, and Maharashtra, the minister directed officials to prepare comprehensive proposals to develop the fort as a tourist center.

Young India Integrated Residential Schools for Poor Students

At Madnoor Mandal, Minister Jupalli laid the foundation stone for the Young India Integrated Residential School, a ₹305 crore project aimed at providing quality education to underprivileged students.

Restoration of Naganna Step Well

Minister Jupalli, along with MLA Madanamohan Rao and MP Suresh Shetkar, also visited the ancient Naganna step well in Lingampeta. He praised the step well’s artistry and assured efforts to restore and enhance its appeal as a tourist attraction.

The visits underscored the government’s commitment to preserving historical monuments and promoting tourism in Kamareddy district. The events were attended by District Collector Ashish Sangwan, Sub-Collector Kiranmayi, and officials from the Tourism and Water Drainage Departments.
