Adilabad District SP Ghouse Alam IPS inaugurated a new interceptor vehicle designed to address emergencies, curb anti-social activities, and prevent accidents and crimes across the district. The vehicle, staffed with a dedicated team including an ASI, three constables, and two women constables, was flagged off at the District SP Camp Office on Friday.
The SP emphasized that this innovation aims to enhance the district police force’s efficiency in responding to emergencies and maintaining law and order. The interceptor will primarily operate in accident-prone areas (hotspots) to implement necessary preventive measures and minimize fatalities. It will also be stationed at public gatherings, fairs, and other high-footfall events to deter theft and misbehavior.
SP Alam highlighted that the interceptor will be pivotal in curbing criminal activities, especially those targeting women, by deploying personnel at sensitive locations. In situations of unrest or threats to public safety, the vehicle will ensure swift action to restore order.
The launch event was attended by Special Branch DSP Potaram Srinivas, Adilabad DSP L. Jeevan Reddy, Town CIs Sunil and Karunakar, Reserve Inspectors D. Venkat, T. Murali, and N. Chandrashekhar, along with the interceptor team and other police personnel.
