National Secretary of BPTYM, Ravishankar Alluri, issued a stern warning on Friday, stating that if the government continues to neglect auto drivers, a large-scale protest is inevitable. Addressing a gathering of auto drivers at Jogipet Bus Stand, organized under the leadership of Telangana Auto & Taxi Drivers Union Vice President Mogulayya, Ravishankar expressed concern over the plight of auto drivers in Telangana.

He criticized the government’s free bus travel scheme, claiming it has severely impacted the livelihoods of auto drivers, pushing many into financial distress and even leading to tragic suicides. Ravishankar urged drivers to stay resilient, assuring them of better days ahead.

Ravishankar demanded the establishment of a welfare board for auto drivers to provide medical benefits to their families. He also called for free education for their children in corporate schools, allocation of double-bedroom houses, and Mudra loans through banks to protect them from private financiers.

To further support the community, he announced plans to launch an insurance camp offering Rs. 15 lakh coverage for auto drivers through BMS. He stressed that the state government must act swiftly to address these issues; otherwise, protests will be launched across the state.

The event was attended by representatives of Telangana State Private Transport Mazdoor Mahasangh, BMS leaders, and local union members, who collectively echoed these demands and emphasized the need for urgent government intervention.
