Congress Sets New Record in CM Relief Fund Assistance

The Congress government has achieved a remarkable milestone in public welfare by setting a new record in CM Relief Fund (CMRF) assistance. Within its first year in office, the government has supported 1.66 lakh families by sanctioning ₹830 crore, of which ₹590 crore has already been disbursed, as confirmed by a statement from the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) on Sunday.

Comparison with the Previous Government:

• During the 2018-2023 term, the BRS government disbursed ₹2400 crore in CMRF assistance, averaging ₹480 crore per year.
• In contrast, the Congress government, under Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, sanctioned ₹830 crore in just one year, demonstrating its commitment to public welfare and healthcare support.

Focus of the CMRF:

The CM Relief Fund is designed to provide financial assistance for medical treatments that are not covered under Aarogyasri, ensuring that families from economically weaker sections can access costly medical procedures.

• The program operates based on recommendations from public representatives, ensuring that aid reaches the most vulnerable.
