Residents of Thimmapur village in Jagadevpur Mandal, Gajwel constituency, Siddipet district, have unanimously resolved to completely ban alcohol consumption and sale in their village. The villagers stated that the decision was made collectively to safeguard the community’s well-being and promote harmony.

As part of the resolution, the villagers announced that anyone caught selling alcohol in the village would face a fine of ₹5 lakh, and individuals purchasing alcohol from unauthorized outlets (belt shops) would be fined ₹10,000. Furthermore, a reward of ₹5,000 will be given to anyone who reports alcohol sellers in the village.

The villagers submitted the resolution to the Gajwel ACP office and Jagadevpur Police Station, emphasizing their commitment to enforcing the ban. They highlighted the severe health and social issues caused by alcohol consumption, including family disputes and financial hardships.

The resolution also pointed out the negative impact of alcohol on youth, with many abandoning their education and jeopardizing their future. The village elders and residents have pledged to make Thimmapur an alcohol-free zone to protect the community and ensure a brighter future for the next generation.
