Tragic Road Accident Claims Four Lives, Injures 22

A horrific road accident near Gangasagaram in Chittoor claimed four lives and left 22 others injured in the early hours of the morning. The incident occurred on the Chittoor-Thatchoor highway, where a private travels bus lost control while trying to avoid a stationary tipper truck and overturned.
The bus, traveling from Tirupati to Tiruchirappalli, collided with a divider at high speed and toppled across the road around 2 AM.
District Collector Sumit Kumar rushed to the accident site to oversee rescue operations. The injured were immediately transported to Chittoor District Hospital, while those with critical injuries were shifted to CMC Vellore for advanced treatment.
Authorities are investigating the cause of the accident, and rescue teams are working to clear the debris and restore traffic flow. The tragedy highlights the need for strict adherence to road safety measures, particularly during ongoing highway construction projects.
