District SP Akhil Mahajan conducted a surprise inspection of the Vemulawada Town Police Station on Thursday. Highlighting the influx of thousands of devotees and vehicles to the town daily for Rajanna temple visits, he directed the authorities to implement strict measures to streamline traffic and prevent disruptions.
SP Mahajan emphasized the need for effective traffic management at key locations such as Nampally, Nandikaman, Tippapur Bus Stand, and Korutla Bus Stand. He noted that the traffic issues in these areas had been brought to his attention and assured that steps were being taken to resolve road-related challenges in collaboration with the District Collector and concerned departments. Under the supervision of RSI Raju, additional personnel have been deployed to prevent traffic jams and ensure smooth movement.
The SP also announced the formation of a special team within the station’s jurisdiction to enhance visible policing and strengthen security measures. A five-member action team has been established, focusing on 12 key locations in the town. These locations will be monitored hourly to ensure continuous safety and vigilance.
Special attention is being paid to individuals disrupting public peace, with strict surveillance on rowdy sheeters and history sheeters. The SP instructed the officials to keep a close watch on their movements and take decisive action if necessary.
The inspection was accompanied by Town Inspector Veera Prasad, SI Ramesh, and other staff members, who reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining law and order in Vemulawada. The measures aim to ensure the safety and security of devotees and residents alike while addressing long-standing traffic and security challenges.
