Students Must Be Protected from Drug Abuse: Additional Collector C.H. Mahender

Mulugu Additional Collector (Revenue) C.H. Mahender urged excise and police officials to safeguard students from falling prey to drug abuse. On Friday, a review meeting on the elimination of drug use was held with officials from excise, police, and various departments at the Collectorate conference hall.
Speaking on the occasion, the Additional Collector emphasized the need for police and excise departments to work together in visiting colleges and hostels. He advised conducting awareness programs to prevent students from straying onto the wrong path. He stressed the importance of completely eradicating the use of substances like marijuana and drugs in the district.
Mahender directed that if anyone is found using drugs, they must be referred to a de-addiction center for counseling. He urged college principals and headmasters to closely monitor students’ behavior and report any suspicions to higher authorities.
The meeting concluded with the unveiling of awareness posters aimed at curbing drug use.
Officials in attendance included DCRB DSP Kishore, Anti-Narcotics DSP Saidulu, Collectorate Superintendent Mahesh Babu, DEO Panini, DIO, and other related officials.
