Kumuram Bheem Asifabad: Sirpur MLA Dr. Palvai Harish Babu criticized the Telangana government for its negligence regarding the welfare of students in government-run hostels and Gurukulas. Speaking in the Assembly, he highlighted the tragic death of Chowdari Shailaja, a student from the Girijan Ashram School in Wankidi Mandal, who passed away due to food poisoning.

The MLA lamented that even after such a heartbreaking incident, the government failed to extend financial assistance to the bereaved family. He expressed concern over the alarming frequency of student deaths in state-run hostels and Gurukulas, blaming the lack of government attention for the ongoing crisis.

Dr. Harish Babu urged the government to take immediate action to address the health and safety issues plaguing these institutions. He emphasized that it is the state’s responsibility to ensure the well-being of its students and called for comprehensive measures to prevent such incidents in the future.
