Red Sandalwood Seized in Tirumala, Smugglers Flee

In a major operation, the Tirumala Task Force has successfully seized a large quantity of red sandalwood from smugglers attempting to transport it illegally. The operation took place near the Parveta Mandapam area, where task force personnel intercepted a vehicle suspected of smuggling the precious wood.
Upon halting the vehicle, the smugglers fled into the nearby forest area, evading capture. The vehicle, along with the red sandalwood, was seized and transported to the local Tirumala Forest Department office for further action.
This operation highlights the continuous efforts of authorities to curb illegal activities in the region, particularly the smuggling of red sandalwood, which is a highly valuable and protected species. The Forest Department has assured that an investigation will be conducted to identify and apprehend those responsible for the illegal trade.
