Nalgonda, January 22
Nalgonda District Collector Tripathi emphasized the importance of promoting normal deliveries in government hospitals. On Wednesday, she conducted a surprise inspection of the Ogode Primary Health Center (PHC) in Nakirekal Mandal.
During her visit, she reviewed the outpatient and inpatient registers, along with the ANC (Antenatal Care) register used to monitor monthly check-ups for pregnant women. Expressing concern over the lack of deliveries at the PHC, she questioned the medical staff about the reasons for “zero deliveries” and asked if both normal and C-section deliveries were being conducted at the facility. She also inquired whether all doctors were regularly attending their duties.
The Collector emphasized that rural areas primarily depend on government healthcare facilities, and it is the responsibility of government doctors to provide proper medical services and save lives. She stated that the government is spending substantial funds on doctors, staff, and infrastructure to ensure quality healthcare.
She further warned that if any cases of deliberately referring patients from government hospitals to private hospitals without valid reasons come to notice, strict action would be taken, including revoking the licenses of the responsible doctors.
