Plane Flies Over Tirumala Temple, Devotees Outraged

Devotees expressed outrage after a plane was seen flying over the sacred Tirumala Sri Venkateswara Temple. According to the Agama Shastra, flying over the temple’s gopuram is strictly prohibited, and such incidents have been a recurring concern for years.

The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) has repeatedly appealed to the Central Government to declare the temple area a no-fly zone. Despite these requests, the Ministry of Civil Aviation has not taken concrete action, leading to frequent aircraft movements above the temple.

Devotees and Agama scholars have raised concerns, warning that such flights could lead to adverse consequences. In recent days, reports of planes flying over the temple have become increasingly frequent, causing alarm among the devotees.

TTD officials have urged the central authorities to ban flights over the temple and formally declare the area a no-fly zone. Although the central government previously assured measures to restrict flight movements near the temple, the increasing traffic at Renigunta Airport has made enforcing a no-fly zone challenging.

Despite these assurances, the devotees demand immediate action to preserve the sanctity of the Tirumala Temple. TTD continues to press the Ministry of Civil Aviation to prioritize the issue and prevent further disruptions above the sacred shrine.
