Pending Projects in Nalgonda District to Be Completed in the Next Four Years: Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy

Telangana Minister for Irrigation and Environmental Affairs Uttam Kumar Reddy announced that all pending and incomplete projects in the united Nalgonda district will be completed within the next four years. This assurance was made during his visit to the Brahmana Vellamula Balancing Reservoir site in Narketpalli Mandal on Friday, alongside Minister for Roads and Buildings Komatireddy Venkat Reddy and Transport Minister Ponnala Prabhakar, as part of arrangements for the upcoming visit of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy.

During the site inspection, Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy stated that the Brahmana Vellamula project is a dream initiative of Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy and a lifeline for drought-prone areas. He highlighted that the project would provide irrigation water to one lakh acres via Udaya Samudram, and Chief Minister Revanth Reddy is set to release 0.3 TMC of water from Udaya Samudram to Brahmana Vellamula on Saturday.

The Minister also detailed plans for land acquisition, noting that 730 acres are yet to be acquired to ensure smooth execution. He assured that irrigation water would be made available to 50,000 acres within the first phase and reiterated the government’s commitment to completing the SLBC Tunnel project during its current tenure.

Komatireddy Venkat Reddy expressed gratitude to the Chief Minister and the Irrigation Minister for their support in completing the Brahmana Vellamula project, which was initiated during the tenure of the late Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy. He emphasized the impact of the project on local agriculture and groundwater recharge, predicting significant growth in land values and agricultural yield.

Minister Ponnala Prabhakar and Nakrekal MLA Vemula Veeresham also attended the event, along with District Collector Ila Tripathi, Additional Collector J. Srinivas, CE Ajay Kumar, CE Srinivas Reddy, and RDO Ashok Reddy. The Ministers pledged to make Nalgonda a fertile and prosperous district by accelerating pending projects and ensuring timely water supply to all.
