Nalgonda Collector Pushes for 100% Waste Management and Vermicompost Production”

Nalgonda District Collector Ms. Ila Tripathi has directed officials to prioritize the production of vermicompost to the maximum extent possible through dumping yards. She emphasized the need for 100% collection of wet and dry waste to achieve this goal.
On Friday, the Collector inspected the dumping yard located in Chandanapally under the jurisdiction of Nalgonda Municipality. She stressed the importance of preventing contamination of drinking water and ensuring proper waste management through consistent vermicompost production. The Collector also issued instructions on waste recycling and disposal processes to be carried out effectively in the dumping yard.
During her visit, she examined a nearby site for the proposed construction of a slaughterhouse and directed municipal officials to allocate suitable land for its establishment. The Collector stated that this facility would play a key role in addressing environmental concerns effectively.
Later, the Collector inspected the sewage treatment plant at Sheshamma Guda, reviewing its operations and efficiency. She emphasized improving waste management systems and ensuring public health and safety in urban areas.
Municipal Chairman Burri Srinivas Reddy, RDO Ashok Reddy, Municipal Commissioner Syed Musab Ahmad, Tahsildar Srinivasulu, and other officials accompanied the Collector during her visit.
