Adilabad ; MLA Payal Shankar criticized Chief Minister Revanth Reddy for failing to fulfill his promise of regularizing Samagra Shiksha employees. Visiting the protest camp outside the District Collector’s office, the MLA expressed solidarity with the employees and took a sharp dig at the CM, questioning whether he has not found time for a cup of tea since promising the G.O. a year ago.
Addressing the gathering, MLA Shankar accused the CM of ignoring financial realities when making commitments under the protest tent and now using the state’s economic condition as an excuse. He questioned the government’s reluctance to resolve issues that are not under court purview while continuing to blame legal proceedings for the delay.
“These are not excessive demands; they are legitimate concerns that the government should address positively,” Shankar asserted, urging the employees not to lose hope as his party stands firmly in support of their cause.
The MLA promised to escalate the issue by directly speaking with the CM in the next couple of days. Later, during the protest, he contacted party state president Kishan Reddy and ensured employees of their party’s unwavering support. In a gesture of solidarity, the party announced ₹25,000 financial aid for the protestors.
Party district president Brahmanandam, Ramesh, Nagesh, Venugopal, and Lala Munna were among those who participated in the event, bolstering support for the ongoing movement.
