The Vaikuntha Dwaram at the Sri Venkateswara temple in Tirumala was opened to the devotees, marking the commencement of the Mukkoti Vaikuntha Ekadashi celebrations. With the chant of “Govinda Nama” reverberating across the temple, a massive influx of devotees gathered to experience the divine darshan of Lord Venkateswara.
Among the prominent visitors were Jaggampeta MLA and TTD Board Member Jyothula Nehru and his family, including his wife Mani, TDP Kakinada district president Jyothula Naveen Lakshmi Devi, his grandson Jyothula Aneesh Nehru, and his daughter’s husband, Totta Sunita Sarvarayudu. The family members were granted darshan through the North Gate (Uttara Dwaram), a rare privilege. They also had the opportunity to witness the golden chariot within the temple.
Speaking on the occasion, Nehru expressed his gratitude for the decision taken by the TTD to open the North Gate for ten days, providing devotees with an exclusive chance to witness Lord Venkateswara. He also expressed his deep sorrow over the tragic incident at the token center, where six lives were lost during the rush for darshan. Nehru extended his heartfelt condolences to the grieving families.
This morning, special prayers and abhishekam (ritualistic bathing) were offered to the deity before the darshan was opened to the public at 3:45 AM. Devotees, overwhelmed with divine joy, experienced the unparalleled bliss of witnessing Lord Vishnu in his Vaikuntha form. Nehru prayed for the well-being of all humanity, seeking Lord Venkateswara’s blessings for the world.
