The 129th birth anniversary of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose was celebrated with grandeur in Nalgonda district, organized by the Janaganamana Utsav Committee. The event, held to honor his legacy, also marked the annual celebration of the Janaganamana Utsav.
During the event, Arya Pratinidhi Sabha United Andhra Pradesh General Secretary Harikishan Veda Alankar and Janaganamana Utsav Committee President Karnati Vijay Kumar addressed the gathering, emphasizing Netaji’s legacy. They spoke about how Netaji’s famous rallying cry, “Give me blood, and I will give you freedom,” inspired millions to strive for independence.
The event featured the unveiling of the Azad Hind Fauj flag, designed by Netaji, and the national anthem was sung in his honor. They highlighted his efforts to fight against British rule with the support of countries like Japan and Germany, and how, in 1943, he declared India’s independence by hoisting the national flag.
Nalgonda DSP Shivarami Reddy also paid tribute, recalling Netaji’s 11 imprisonments and his leadership in establishing the Azad Hind Fauj, a revolutionary army. He stressed that Netaji’s sacrifice and his resignation from the prestigious ICS post to serve the nation should inspire today’s youth.
Retired IAS officer and former Chief Secretary of Pondicherry Government, Chollati Prabhakar, also spoke, urging the youth to adopt the leadership qualities and thought processes of national leaders like Netaji.
Later, students who won competitions on Netaji’s biography were awarded prizes. Several dignitaries, including Nalgonda Municipal Chairman Barri Srinivas Reddy, Vice Chairman Abbagoni Ramesh, and former Chairman Boyapalli Krishna Reddy, participated in the ceremony, along with other local leaders and Janaganamana Utsav Committee members.
The celebrations culminated with honoring the Janaganamana Nitya National Anthem coordinators and spreading awareness about Netaji’s life and ideals.
