Chennur MLA Vivek Venkataswamy performed the Bhoomi Puja for the construction of Indiramma Model Houses at the Mandamarri MPDO office, marking the commencement of the project aimed at fulfilling the dream of home ownership for Telangana residents.
Speaking at the event, Vivek Venkataswamy highlighted the Congress government’s commitment to implementing welfare schemes like Indiramma Housing, Rythu Bharosa, and ration cards. He assured that houses will be allotted to all eligible beneficiaries without discrimination.
Criticizing Chief Minister KCR, he accused the government of misusing ₹1.25 lakh crore public funds on the Kaleshwaram project, which could have been utilized for constructing houses under the Indiramma scheme. He stated that the state’s treasury has been emptied due to the CM’s poor decisions, leaving citizens disappointed after their hopes from Telangana statehood were crushed.
The MLA pointed out flaws in previous government schemes during Congress-led gram sabhas. He revealed that under Rythu Bandhu, assistance was extended to non-agricultural properties like real estate ventures, cinema theaters, and brick kilns, leaving genuine farmers neglected. These issues were raised by farmers during recent conferences.
Vivek Venkataswamy assured that the Congress government would conduct a comprehensive survey to identify genuine beneficiaries and implement welfare schemes effectively. Once the survey is completed, eligible farmers will receive ₹12,000 per acre under Rythu Bharosa.
Despite the state’s financial challenges caused by alleged mismanagement, he emphasized that the Congress government remains committed to implementing six key guarantees for the welfare of Telangana citizens.
