The tragic accident in Narnur mandal’s Malepur village outskirts has been attributed to the negligence of the driver, who was driving without a valid license, according to Utnur ASP Kajal IPS. The incident occurred on Sunday around 4:30 PM when 50 Adivasis from Surya Guda, Gudihatnur mandal, were returning from Kaple Temple after performing rituals for their family deities. The Eicher vehicle, driven recklessly by Kanaka Sriram (26) from Poonaguda Thosam village, overturned at a sharp turn in the ghat section.

Out of the 37 injured, two have tragically lost their lives. The victims were identified as Kumra Malku, son of Keshavrao, and Thudsam Nagubai, wife of Maru, both residents of Surya Guda in Gudihatnur mandal. The remaining injured individuals are currently receiving treatment at RIMS Adilabad Government Hospital.

ASP Kajal IPS clarified in an official statement that the driver, lacking a valid driving license, operated the vehicle negligently, leading to the accident. A case has been registered under Crime Number 7/25, u/s 106(1), 125(a) BNS at Narnur Police Station. The driver has been arrested, and further investigation into the incident is underway.

The police urged drivers to follow traffic regulations and maintain caution while driving, particularly in areas with challenging road conditions, to prevent such unfortunate accidents in the future.
