APSSDC Signs MoU with Swaniti Initiative for Green Skilling Development

The Andhra Pradesh State Skill Development Corporation (APSSDC) has signed a significant Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Swaniti Initiative to promote Green Skilling and create employment opportunities for youth in the renewable energy sector. The agreement was formalized in the presence of State Minister for Human Resources, IT, and Electronics Nara Lokesh at his Undavalli residence.
Swaniti Initiative, a prominent social organization focused on public service delivery and policy development, will collaborate with APSSDC to design a skill development framework specifically for the renewable energy sector. The MoU aims to identify opportunities, provide technical support, and enhance skilling programs to create a sustainable job market in Andhra Pradesh.
Key Objectives of the MoU:
1. Drafting a Renewable Energy Skill Development Strategy: Swaniti will prepare and finalize an actionable roadmap within four months.
2. Skill Landscape Assessment: Evaluating the skill requirements in the renewable energy sector through consultations with stakeholders, including industries, training institutions, and academic organizations.
3. Workshops and Collaborations: Conducting workshops and meetings with sector experts and stakeholders, including national and international industry leaders.
4. Technical and Logistic Support: APSSDC will provide the required infrastructure and technical resources to facilitate the implementation of the strategy.
Planned Activities by Swaniti Initiative:
• Baseline surveys in districts such as Anantapur, Chittoor, Kadapa, Kurnool, and Nellore to identify job opportunities in the green energy sector.
• Assessing skill development needs and aligning training programs with industry demands.
• Reviewing existing state-level green skill training programs and identifying gaps to enhance human resource development.
• Partnering with premier academic institutions for skill assessment and mapping.
• Developing industry-aligned training infrastructure in ITIs, polytechnics, and skill hubs.
• Connecting with national and international industry organizations to create a sustainable ecosystem for green skilling.
The MoU signing ceremony was attended by Uma Bhattacharya, Trustee of Swaniti Initiative, State Consultant Shiva Prasad, Associate Teja Sariya, and senior officials from APSSDC, including MD Ganesh Kumar and Executive Director Dinesh Kumar.
This collaboration signifies a major step towards empowering Andhra Pradesh’s youth with skills for the renewable energy sector and supporting the state’s vision for sustainable development.
