Savitribai Phule Jayanti Celebrated as ‘Women Teachers’ Day’

Adilabad District Collector Rajarshi Shah hailed Savitribai Phule as a guiding light for the upliftment of marginalized women and expressed joy over the state government’s decision to celebrate her birth anniversary as ‘Women Teachers’ Day.’

The district celebrated Savitribai Phule Jayanti on Friday with great reverence. The event began with floral tributes to her portrait at the district headquarters. Speaking on the occasion, the Collector highlighted the pivotal role of Savitribai Phule and her husband Jyotirao Phule in laying the foundation for significant social change in India.

The Collector emphasized the couple’s contribution to prioritizing women’s education and fighting against caste and gender discrimination. She remarked that their struggle for justice and equality continues to inspire generations.

Rajarshi Shah further stated that the state government is committed to realizing Savitribai Phule’s vision by empowering women through education and skills development. She applauded the government’s initiatives to promote equal opportunities for women across all sectors and encouraged celebrating this day annually to honor Savitribai Phule’s enduring legacy.
