The Chief Secretary of the State Government, K. Vijayanand, emphasized the pivotal role of the Real-Time Governance Society (RTGS) in enhancing the performance of government departments through advanced technological support. During his visit to the RTGS center at the Secretariat on Friday, he stressed aligning RTGS activities with Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu’s vision to deliver better outcomes.

RTGS Director Suresh Kumar and CEO K. Dinesh Kumar briefed the Chief Secretary on the ongoing initiatives. Vijayanand highlighted the immense opportunities provided by technology to improve governance, urging RTGS to serve as a cutting-edge platform to address the needs of government departments effectively. He assured his personal oversight of RTGS operations to ensure smooth functioning and rapid implementation.

WhatsApp Governance to Launch Soon

Chief Secretary Vijayanand revealed that WhatsApp Governance, a new initiative by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, will soon be launched to make public services more accessible. RTGS CEO Dinesh Kumar reported that the project is nearly complete, offering over 150 public services and enabling citizens to file complaints through WhatsApp. The Chief Secretary recommended making the platform available in both English and Telugu for better reach and inclusivity.

Collaboration with Government Departments

Vijayanand advised RTGS to collaborate closely with all government departments by sharing innovative technologies and addressing specific departmental needs. He urged RTGS to focus on providing solutions rather than highlighting shortcomings, suggesting that a dedicated RTGS representative be assigned to each department to facilitate effective engagement. This approach aims to identify challenges in public service delivery and create tailored technological solutions.

The meeting was attended by RTGS Deputy CEO M. Madhuri and other senior officials, who pledged to support the Chief Secretary’s directives for improving governance through technology.
