DECEMBER 24 (District Correspondent): The 1962 mobile veterinary service staff, who tirelessly serve voiceless animals, are now facing severe hardships due to unpaid salaries. The Telangana government, despite introducing the prestigious 1962 mobile veterinary service to save countless animal lives, has failed to address the financial needs of the staff involved, leaving them in dire straits.
The staff, including veterinarians, paramedics, assistants, and drivers, have not received their salaries for the past four months. This has pushed them into financial difficulties, with many struggling to provide for their families. The lack of funds from the government has turned their dedication into a daily challenge, with no clarity on when their next paycheck will arrive.
Despite being praised by the public for their ground-level services, the staff express deep disappointment in the government’s negligence. They demand immediate release of funds to ensure uninterrupted services and fair treatment. Past instances show that only after a flash strike did the government respond by releasing funds. However, the staff, who remain committed to their work, hope for proactive support this time.
Threat of Strike Looms:
Dr. Malavika, a member of the 1962 veterinary staff, emphasized that the government has not released funds for 18 months, nor has it implemented any salary increments since the scheme’s inception. “We demand immediate release of funds and an increase in salaries. If the government fails to act, we will initiate a statewide flash strike,” she warned.
The staff urge the government to recognize their dedication and address their grievances promptly, ensuring the continuation of these crucial veterinary services without further hindrance.
