Hyderabad: To provide better and more transparent services to the public, the Telangana government has announced the reorganization of Sub-Registrar Offices and the construction of modern, corporate-level buildings funded through CSR initiatives. This was announced by the Minister for Revenue, Housing, Information, and Public Relations, Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy, during a meeting held on Tuesday at the Secretariat with Khammam MP Ramasahayam Raghurama Reddy, collectors, and district registrars from Rangareddy, Hyderabad, Medchal-Malkajgiri, and Sangareddy districts.
The minister emphasized that the reorganization and construction of Sub-Registrar Offices should focus on enhancing public service facilities and eliminating the inconvenience faced by citizens. He instructed district collectors to identify land for constructing permanent buildings equipped with advanced amenities, replacing the current rented accommodations of most offices. Out of the 144 Sub-Registrar Offices in the state, only 37 operate from government-owned buildings, and this initiative aims to address this disparity.
In the first phase, the government plans to construct integrated Sub-Registrar Offices in districts including Sangareddy, Medchal, and Rangareddy. A model integrated office will be set up at Gachibowli in the Telangana Academy of Land Information and Management (TALIM) premises. The integrated offices will cover at least three acres, featuring 10,000-15,000 square feet of construction with facilities such as waiting halls, drinking water, and ample parking. Additionally, Hyderabad district offices, including Banjara Hills, SR Nagar, and Golconda, will be consolidated into a single office in Shaikpet.
The minister also stressed leveraging technology to eliminate corruption and improve efficiency in Sub-Registrar Offices. Centralized offices will not only streamline operations but also ensure equitable distribution of workloads and faster processing of files. The government aims to establish new Sub-Registrar Offices in high-demand areas to improve service accessibility for citizens.
This transformative step underscores the government’s commitment to modernizing public services, ensuring efficiency, and providing a seamless experience for citizens in the registration process. The first phase of this ambitious initiative will set a benchmark for integrating technology and public convenience in government services.
