Government Welfare Schemes Must Reach the Eligible: Minister Seethakka

Minister for Panchayat Raj, Rural Development, Women and Child Welfare, and District In-charge, D. Anasuya Seethakka, directed officials to ensure that government development and welfare schemes reach all eligible beneficiaries. She emphasized the importance of transparency and effective implementation while addressing a district-level planning and review meeting in Nirmal on Friday.
The meeting, attended by district collectors Abhilasha Abhinav, Rajarshi Shah, Kumar Deepak, Venkatesh Dhotre, MLC Dande Vittal, MLAs Aleti Maheshwar Reddy, Vedma Bojja Patel, Rama Rao Patel, and Payal Shankar, focused on reviewing the implementation of key welfare schemes, including new ration cards, Indiramma housing, Atmiya Bharosa, and Rythu Bharosa.
Welcomed with a floral bouquet, Minister Seethakka inspected a guard of honor before proceeding with the discussions. She instructed officials to coordinate across departments, including revenue, panchayat raj, and agriculture, to identify eligible beneficiaries through gram sabhas and ward meetings. The Minister stressed the need for prompt and transparent beneficiary selection and directed officials to ensure welfare schemes reach even the most remote areas.
Collector Abhilasha Abhinav outlined progress, reporting that 17,491 applications for new ration cards were received, of which 2,924 beneficiaries were identified through ongoing surveys. Comprehensive lists for schemes like Indiramma Housing and Rythu Bharosa will be prepared and approved through gram sabhas.
MLA Aleti Maheshwar Reddy emphasized that new ration cards, Rythu Bharosa, and Indiramma Housing should reach all eligible individuals, especially the poor. MLA Vedma Bojja Patel urged justice for agency areas by identifying and supporting impoverished residents during field surveys.
Earlier, Minister Seethakka, along with the district collectors and officials, unveiled posters for Road Safety Month as part of awareness initiatives.
The meeting saw participation from MLC Dande Vittal, district collectors of Adilabad, Mancherial, and Asifabad, SP Janaki Sharmila, additional collectors Faizan Ahmad, Kishore Kumar, and Khushboo Gupta, ITDA PO Shyamala Devi, and various local leaders, municipal chairpersons, and public representatives. The Minister concluded by congratulating the Nirmal district administration for successfully organizing recent Nirmal Utsav celebrations.
