Kodangal, January 7
MP DK Aruna, during her visit to Kodangal in Vikarabad district, made striking comments about the misuse of central funds by the state government. Participating in the foundation stone-laying ceremony for developmental works worth ₹4.5 crore in Kodangal and ₹12.5 crore in Kosgi under the Amrit Bharat-2 Scheme, she criticized the state government for rebranding central schemes under their name.
Speaking at the event, DK Aruna said, “Funds are provided by the central government, but the credit is being taken by the state government. Under PM Awas Yojana, houses are being built with central funds, but they are being rebranded as Indiramma Houses. This is unacceptable.” She further suggested, “If you want to rebrand schemes, provide funds from your side. Also, involve representatives from all parties in the Indiramma housing committees to ensure transparency and fairness.”
She stressed that every poor person without a home should be identified and given houses in a phased manner. “Kodangal constituency should become a model where no one is left without a home, and this initiative should begin with a commitment from the Chief Minister himself,” she added. DK Aruna reiterated that the central government’s focus is on inclusive development and providing benefits across all sections
Under the Amrit Scheme, the MP highlighted that providing drinking water to every household is a key goal. “The central government has allocated substantial funds for municipal development under the Amrit Scheme. Today, we laid the foundation stone for works worth ₹4.5 crore in Kodangal. In total, ₹17 crore has been sanctioned for the constituency under this scheme,” she announced.
The works include constructing water pipelines and tanks to ensure that every house in Kodangal receives safe drinking water. She also noted that ₹100 crore has been sanctioned for the development of municipalities in Mahabubnagar, reflecting the central government’s commitment to urban development.
MP Aruna further pointed out that it is central funds under Amrit Scheme and NREGS that are enabling the construction of facilities like Vaikunta Damams and Rythu Vedikas in villages. She concluded by urging the state government to prioritize the proper utilization of these funds for the benefit of the people.
BJP leaders, KADA officials, and several other dignitaries were present at the event, which marked the beginning of significant developmental works in Kodangal constituency.
