Siddipet Traffic ACP Suman Kumar urged vehicle users to strictly follow traffic rules to ensure road safety. Speaking during a Road Safety Month awareness rally conducted near the Old Bus Stand in Siddipet, he highlighted the importance of adhering to traffic regulations to reduce accidents.
The rally, organized in collaboration with Nehru Yuva Kendra, commenced from the Old Bus Stand and culminated at Victory Junction, involving students and local residents. ACP Suman Kumar emphasized that motorcyclists must wear helmets to protect their lives, while four-wheeler drivers should always use seat belts. He noted that road accidents claim the lives of numerous students and young people, with 70% of fatalities involving youth.
“Following traffic and road safety rules can significantly prevent accidents,” he stated. He further explained that seat belts are crucial in ensuring airbags deploy during accidents in four-wheelers. “Without wearing a seat belt, airbags will not function properly,” he clarified. He also advised vehicle users to carry essential documents such as a driving license and insurance at all times.
The program witnessed the participation of Siddipet Cars Association President Abbu Ramesh, Vice President Bairi Naresh, Traffic ASIs Umesh and Sadashiv Rao, along with traffic personnel and local residents.
