The Council for Citizen Rights (CCR) has brought allegations of severe irregularities in the Nagulgaon Gram Panchayat to the attention of Kamareddy District Collector. After villagers approached CCR with complaints, the organization conducted an inspection and record verification, uncovering significant deficiencies. The Panchayat Secretary acknowledged in writing that more than half of the required registers were missing from the Panchayat’s records.

Additionally, scrutiny of available documents revealed numerous errors and incomplete records spanning the past 10 years. Despite filing requests under the Right to Information Act (RTI), only 3-4 years’ worth of records were provided, raising suspicions. The investigation noted discrepancies involving over ₹55 lakh, with improperly maintained registers and unsupported expenditures without proper resolutions.

In response, the CCR Drafting Committee prepared a detailed report and submitted it to the Kamareddy District Collector and the DPO, urging a thorough investigation and strict action against individuals responsible for corruption. CCR has assured the public that they will provide full assistance to anyone noticing similar irregularities elsewhere. The organization is also conducting awareness programs in schools and colleges to educate students on the RTI Act and its significance in promoting accountability.

Prominent members of the CCR, including Nevuri Ratnakar, Charan Kanth, Gundla Sivachandra, Karimuddin, North Telangana Zone-1 Secretary Sheikh Mujeeb, and others, were present during this initiative. The CCR reiterated its commitment to empowering citizens to uphold transparency and fight against corruption in local governance.
