AIDWA District Secretary Nagamani and DYFI District President Naresh Patel demanded that the Central and State Governments strictly enforce women’s protection laws such as Nirbhaya and Disha Acts to curb increasing violence against women. Speaking at a Sankranti Muggulu (rangoli) competition organized by DYFI and AIDWA committees in Kothi Rampur on Monday, they expressed concern over the alarming rise in crimes against women.
Nagamani highlighted that every hour, multiple incidents of violence, harassment, and domestic abuse are being reported, while many women silently endure domestic violence without seeking help. She emphasized that despite various laws and schemes introduced by governments, their implementation remains inadequate, leading to continued violence against women.
Naresh Patel added that the BJP-led central government and the Congress-led state government must take immediate steps to ensure the strict enforcement of women’s protection laws. He stressed the need for stringent action against perpetrators to create a safer environment for women.
Prizes were distributed to the winners of the rangoli competition. The first prize was awarded to M. Ashwitha, the second prize to Ch. Nirmala, and the third prize to Sandhya. The event saw active participation from a large number of women. Leaders including B. Rajamani, M. Padma, Annapurna, Raghu Pathi, and Suresh were present at the occasion.
