Adilabad MLA Payal Shankar stated that Telangana became a reality due to the sacrifices of countless marginalized individuals. Speaking at the 15th death anniversary of Telangana activist Srikanth Chari, the MLA paid homage to the martyr and emphasized his ultimate sacrifice for the formation of the state.

He announced that he would urge the government to recognize Srikanth Chari’s contributions by commemorating his death anniversary statewide. Recalling historical events, Payal Shankar noted how Srikanth Chari’s mother was made to contest elections only to be defeated, highlighting the challenges faced by the backward classes.

The MLA stressed that unity among the backward classes is essential to achieve their collective goals. He criticized political parties for including several welfare schemes in their manifestos before elections but failing to implement them after coming to power. Warning the Congress government, he stated that neglecting the backward classes could lead to consequences similar to those faced by previous administrations.

He also demanded that the government give the backward classes their rightful representation following a caste census. Leaders Chikkala Dattu, Kala Srinivas, Narsingh Kishtayya, Swamy Pramod, Akula Praveen, Mukund Rao, and Ashok Reddy participated in the event.
