Strict Action Against Modified Silencers: Kagaznagar Town CI

Town Circle Inspector Rajendra Prasad has warned two-wheeler riders and mechanics against modifying vehicle silencers. He stated that any changes to company-fitted silencers will result in criminal action against both the vehicle owner and the mechanic involved in the modification.

The warning comes after police identified bikes with high-decibel modified silencers during routine patrols. In a recent drive, vehicles violating noise pollution norms were penalized, and the illegal silencers were removed.

CI Rajendra Prasad emphasized that modifying silencers not only violates legal regulations but also contributes to noise pollution, adversely affecting public health. He stated that police will conduct regular inspections to target such violations and reiterated that strict criminal action will be taken against offenders.

He also urged mechanics not to encourage or facilitate silencer modifications under any circumstances, warning that mechanics found aiding such modifications will face criminal charges. The CI called on citizens to adhere to vehicle norms to maintain public safety and harmony.
