“Seamless Devotion: Preparations Underway for Maha Shivaratri Jathara at Vemulawada”

Government Whip and local MLA Adi Srinivas has called for seamless arrangements to ensure a divine and hassle-free experience for devotees attending the Maha Shivaratri Jathara at Vemulawada’s renowned Sri Raja Rajeshwara Swamy Temple. The three-day Jathara, scheduled from February 25, is expected to draw nearly 4 lakh devotees, up from 2.5 lakh last year.

Presiding over the Jathara Coordination Meeting held in the temple premises on Wednesday, District Collector Sandeep Kumar Jha and MLA Adi Srinivas discussed key arrangements. Adi Srinivas emphasized the need for efficient queue management, provision of drinking water, buttermilk, fruits, and milk for devotees, and robust sanitation measures. “Sanitation is the cornerstone of the Jathara’s success,” he stated, urging for timely cleaning of restrooms every 10 minutes and strict action against negligence.

To address the influx of devotees, the MLA suggested deploying additional police personnel for tight security, ensuring smooth protocol and VIP darshans, and setting up mobile towers to address network issues. Additionally, he encouraged temple authorities to proactively collect information from donors and coordinate their contributions effectively.

Collector Sandeep Kumar Jha stressed the importance of inter-departmental coordination and warned against laxity in duties. He urged temple authorities to provide nutritious food and beverages to devotees without solely relying on donor contributions.

The meeting saw participation from SP Akhil Mahajan, Additional Collector Kimya Naik, RDO Rajeshwar, ASP Seshadri Reddy, Temple EO Vinod, and other officials and public representatives, including municipal and market committee leaders. With meticulous planning and community cooperation, the administration aims to make this Maha Shivaratri Jathara a grand success.
