Reinstallation Ceremonies Begin at Basara Temple

The renowned pilgrimage center of Basara witnessed grand reinstallation ceremonies for the festive deities at the Sri Papahareshwara Temple on Saturday. The first day of the event was marked by elaborate rituals conducted under the guidance of Vedic scholars amid sacred chants and rituals.
As part of the reinstallation, deities including Ganapati, Santan Nagendra, Annapurna, Nandi, Kalabhairava, Veerabhadra, Bali Peetalu, Navagrahas, and the Dhwaja Stambha were ceremoniously installed. The festivities began with an abhishekam using the holy Godavari river water, followed by Rudrabhishekam, Bilvarchana, and Chandi Homam, performed as per Agama Shastra traditions.
Earlier in the day, at 7:00 AM, the deities were taken in a grand procession through the village streets, accompanied by traditional music, with villagers and committee members participating enthusiastically. Women of the village welcomed the deities with plates of aarti, adding to the vibrancy of the occasion.
The event saw active participation from the locals, with the temple grounds bustling with devotion and traditional fervor, setting the tone for the coming days of the Mahotsavam.
