Telangana Government Whip and Vemulawada MLA Adi Srinivas urged the state government to allocate new buses for devotees visiting the Sri Raja Rajeshwara Swamy Temple in Vemulawada, popularly known as Dakshina Kashi. Addressing the Assembly on Tuesday, he appealed to BC Welfare and Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar, highlighting the need to enhance transport facilities for the large number of devotees arriving from distant locations.
Adi Srinivas requested additional buses for the Vemulawada depot, along with an increase in bus services from the Sircilla, Korutla, and Jagityal depots. He also emphasized extending the last bus timings from Korutla to Vemulawada town and improving connectivity for buses arriving from Hyderabad.
Responding to the request, Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar assured that the number of buses would be increased, especially during peak occasions like Shivaratri, to accommodate the influx of devotees. He further stated that an interlinking bus service connecting Kondagattu, Vemulawada, and Dharmapuri temples would soon be introduced to improve accessibility for pilgrims.
