DECCAN FREEDOM NEWS
MULUGU: A murder that occurred on the outskirts of Mulugu Mandal at Bandaru Palli Road in an open plot on Sunday was swiftly investigated and solved by the Mulugu police. SHO Venkateshwar Rao of Mulugu Police Station, upon receiving information, reached the crime scene and identified the deceased as Orsu Srinu, aged 37. Based on a complaint filed by the victim’s mother, Orsu Lakshmi, a case was registered, and an investigation was launched with three special teams formed to apprehend the suspects.
Mulugu DSP Ravinder stated that through CCTV footage and the identification of vehicles used by the suspects, the police successfully traced the accused. On Monday morning, at around 9 AM, the four accused were arrested near the Gattamma Temple in Mulugu. The police seized a Maruti Astra car (AP36AH5900), an auto (TS03UA1506), and five mobile phones from the suspects.
The victim, Orsu Srinu, a lorry driver residing in Hanamkonda and originally from Godavarikhani, was reportedly killed due to a premeditated conspiracy involving his wife, Orsu Swapna, and her paramour, Burra Santosh. According to the investigation, Srinu’s wife had been in an extramarital relationship with Santosh for some time. Feeling threatened by Srinu and citing frequent harassment due to his alcohol addiction, Swapna conspired with Santosh to eliminate him.
The police revealed that Swapna paid ₹30,000 to Santosh, who, along with his friends Akula Anil and Bellamkonda Chandramohan, carried out the murder. On Sunday night, Swapna lured Srinu by suggesting a visit to Medaram. They started their journey at 8 PM from Hanamkonda, traveling in an auto while Santosh followed in a car. By 11:30 PM, they reached Mulugu, where Srinu was intoxicated, and the accused attacked him with stones, killing him on the spot.
The four accused, Orsu Swapna, Burra Santosh, Akula Anil, and Bellamkonda Chandramohan, were remanded in custody after being produced in Mulugu Court. SP Mulugu, Dr. Shabarish, praised the efforts of DSP Ravinder, CI Pasra, SHO Venkateshwar Rao, and other investigating officers for solving the case within 24 hours. Their swift action and teamwork ensured justice for the victim.
