Urban MLA Dhanpal Suryanarayana conducted unannounced inspections at UPS School and Basti Davakhana in 34th Division Mirchi Compound on Tuesday. During his visit, the MLA highlighted the lack of proper education in the UPS school, which, despite having six teachers and adequate facilities, has only 40 students. He expressed concern over the Urdu school in the same area, which, seven months into the academic year, remains underdeveloped.
The MLA noted that the Urdu teacher had been absent for four days, with another teacher taking their place. He criticized the poor maintenance of attendance records and immediately instructed the District Education Officer to take action against the absent teacher. He promised to transform the Mirchi Compound School into a model institution in the next academic year and urged teachers to instill the importance of education in students while encouraging parents to prioritize government schooling for their children.
At the Basti Davakhana, MLA Dhanpal expressed anger over staff negligence. Despite records showing 70 to 80 patients visiting daily, he found that the staff were not providing adequate care, medicines, or conducting check-ups. He directed the District Medical Officer (DMHO) to take strict action against the negligent clinic staff and ensure proper treatment for the patients.
The MLA also visited the local Anganwadi center and toured the division to address public grievances. The program saw participation from 34th Division Corporator Kalpana Mallesh Gupta, BJP leaders Pavan Mundada, Bantu Praveen, Tarak Venu, Vanitha, and Suresh, among others.
