KARIMNAGAR DECEMBER 17

As part of efforts to reduce maternal and neonatal mortality during high-risk pregnancies, a one-day training session on “Integrated High-Risk Pregnancy Management Guidelines” was organized in Karimnagar district under the leadership of District Medical and Health Officer (DMHO) Dr. Venkata Ramana. The training, held in collaboration with Armaan NGO Group Hyderabad, targeted first and second-level Auxiliary Nurse Midwives (ANMs). Trainers Mounika and Santoshini from Armaan Group emphasized identifying high-risk factors such as anemia, diabetes, tuberculosis, seizures, and hypertension during pregnancy to ensure early referral and effective management.

DMHO Dr. Venkata Ramana highlighted the importance of early identification and timely referral of such high-risk cases to reduce maternal and neonatal mortality rates. He urged ANMs to provide effective care to ensure safe deliveries. The session was attended by POMCH Dr. Sanajaveria, HEEO Rajagopal, and all participating ANMs.

Later, the DMHO conducted surprise visits to Urban Health Centers in BRR Colony, Motaj Khana, and Kattarampur. He reviewed the ongoing Arogya Mahila Program and interacted with women receiving medical services. He instructed the staff to increase the number of normal deliveries, maintain clean surroundings at health centers, and ensure efficient OPD, lab services, and pharmacy support. Dr. Ramana emphasized the need to raise awareness about the importance of ANC (Antenatal Care) and PNC (Postnatal Care) check-ups for pregnant women.

The visits were attended by Dr. Sanajaveria, P.O. MCH, and other medical staff.
