Massive Scam Under Jagananna Layout in Srikalahasti

A large-scale scam has come to light under the name of Jagananna Layout in Srikalahasti, leading to widespread allegations of corruption. According to reports, even 164 MLAs from the ruling party have reportedly held meetings with beneficiaries of the Jagananna Colony scheme across the state. Despite 6,000 beneficiaries being allotted plots in Srikalahasti, only around 60 attended the meeting, which raises suspicions of fake names being used to sell plots illegally.

Sudheer Reddy, the local MLA, claimed that the absence of most of the beneficiaries from the meeting indicated that leaders may have sold plots under fake names. He criticized the system, pointing out that the government had been advertising the event for days, yet fewer than 1% of the supposed beneficiaries turned up. He further stated that these plots were allotted under the false promise of providing land to the poor.

Reddy also accused the previous government of using the Jagananna Colony scheme to acquire land and deceive people, resulting in large-scale financial fraud. He pointed out that former legislator Biyappa Madhusudhan Reddy promised 250 crores for road construction in Jagananna Colony, but when examined, no proper infrastructure had been developed, with no streets or streetlights in sight.

Housing department officials, when questioned, denied responsibility, blaming the previous administration for the issues. Reddy has called for an inquiry into the actions of the former officials who were responsible for this scandal and vowed to bring it to light. He demanded a judicial investigation into the Jagananna Colony scam and said that if all the MLAs involved in the scheme investigated the matter, the truth would be exposed.

Reddy concluded by stating that he would file a formal complaint with Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, demanding action against the corruption surrounding the Jagananna Colony scheme in Srikalahasti.
