In a proactive move, residents of the colony stopped the illegal transportation of sand being carried out through three tractors from the Pedda Vagu to Maruthi Nagar. The tractors were intercepted by the residents when they noticed that the drivers did not have any valid permits.
Upon investigation, the drivers were found to possess only a receipt from the Bhattipally village temple (Rs. 100), but no official documents. The residents immediately informed the local authorities. The Station House Officer (SHO) and police officials arrived at the scene and, after questioning, confirmed the lack of proper documentation. Consequently, the tractors were seized and taken to the police station for further action.
