Nalanda High School in Mamidipalli, Armoor town, celebrated the birthday of Indian mathematician Srinivasa Ramanujan Iyengar with grandeur on Saturday. Renowned for his contributions to mathematics in the 20th century, Ramanujan’s work with GH Hardy and JE Littlewood at Cambridge University in 1913 remains iconic. The school’s Principal Sagar and Correspondent Prasad praised his early achievements and dedication to advancing mathematics.

Students from 1st to 9th grades presented nearly 100 innovative mathematics projects. Notable exhibits included Geometrical Parks, Sum of Angles, Trigonometric Values, Magical Box, 100-Year Calendars, and India Map Drawing using Spares. Other standout projects focused on Ramanujan’s life, 3D nets, body mass index, and mathematical puzzles, showcasing creativity and in-depth understanding.

Parents, teachers, and students attended the exhibition and admired the students’ efforts under the guidance of math teachers. Prizes and certificates were awarded to the top three performances from each class by the school management. Teachers Satish, Sivadatthu, Shweta, Nikhitha, and Rajshri, who contributed to the students’ success, were honored with shawls and mementos.

The event was a resounding success, leaving students and attendees inspired by the spirit of mathematics.
